Events

You can find which events are running by checking the above Magic the gathering groups, or our monthly event calendars on our d20 Uxbridge and d20 Watford pages. This is also where you can book yourself on to your desired event.

Both of our cafes are WPN stores, with our Watford store being a Premium store. We run various Magic events in Uxbridge every Friday (except the last one of the month), and in Watford we run them every Friday. We also run Commander every 2nd and 4th Sunday in Watford.

For event bookings, first select the day of the event, and then use the drop-down menu to select the event you would like to book.

Formats https://magic.wizards.com/en/game-info/gameplay/rules-and-formats/formats

Casual – Casual events are what you might expect. There is no prescribed format and no tournament structure. You’ll usually find a mix of formats being played, most commonly Commander. If you want to play a specific format, be sure to communicate with other players ahead of time so they know what to bring. Casual events typically only cost the concession charge for playing games, which you can find out more about here. We might give out promos but there are no prizes given out at casual events.

Commander: Commander is Magic’s most popular multiplayer format using a 100 card deck. A popular format at both d20 branches and a regular Sunday event in Watford.

Pioneer: Games played with decks constructed from a portion of the cards available in Magic’s history – A very popular format at d20.

Pauper: Games played with decks constructed from only common rarity cards.

Draft: Create a smaller deck by passing packs and play games. We usually host 1 0r 2 drafts a month.

Sealed: Create a deck from 6 sealed packs and play games. Pre-release events are hosted in this format.

Standard: The simplest way to play with only the newest cards. Currently the least popular format at d20.

Modern/Legacy/Vintage: Games played with decks constructed from a portion of the cards available in Magic’s history – less popular at our cafes.
